Why Take a Field Trip to Old Sturbridge Village?
- Hands-On Experiential Opportunities: Whether through workshops led by museum educators or interactive spaces in the village, a field trip offers opportunities for students to engage multiple senses in their exploration of the past.
- Practice Critical Thinking Skills: Students interact with costumed historians and exhibit spaces to investigate the challenges and perspectives of 19th-century rural New Englanders and compare them to their experiences today.
- Boost Historical Empathy: A field trip to OSV offers an immersive experience for students to step into the lives of rural New Englanders and imagine what it was like to live in the 1830s.
- Connect to Learning and Civics Standards: Explore themes and events that align with standards across grade levels and states
