Back by Popular Demand: Upon a Midnight Clear: An Acoustic New England Christmas

Embark on a magical musical journey through the 19th century with Upon a Midnight Clear: An Acoustic New England Christmas during Christmas by Candlelight at Old Sturbridge Village! This approximately half-hour performance is presented by ClockJack Productions and features singer-songwriters re-interpreting Christmas carols from the 19th century, accompanied by guitar and piano. Featured songs include "Joy to the World" (1839), "Jingle Bells" (1857), "Up on the Housetop" (1860), and more. A narrator will also share short stories about the origins of each song.

Upon a Midnight Clear: An Acoustic New England Christmas runs multiple times every night of Christmas by Candlelight and is included with tickets to Christmas by Candlelight or a Candlelight Club Pass. The show takes place in the in the Stephen M. Brewer Theater in the Country Bank Visitor Center at 4:00, 5:00, 6:00, and 7:00 p.m. Christmas by Candlelight runs November 28-30, December 5-7, 12-14, 19-23, and 27-30, 2025 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Jade Genga (Narrator) is an actor and choreographer based in Providence, RI. Evan Couture (Vocalist/Musician) Evan Couture is a guitarist and singer from Brookfield, Massachusetts. He plays all around New England with his bands Moonlight Saints and Ramble On Rose. Evan performs as a solo act as well. He plays a variety of genres, but has a particular passion for rock and blues music. evancouturemusic.com

Jared Fiske (Vocalist/Musician)is a seasoned performing musician based in central Massachusetts, with more than two decades of professional experience.Best known for his work as a solo performer and songwriter, Fiske is also a member of the Americana/ rock outfit The Casters and performs in the acoustic duo Never Say Never alongside his wife, Jessica Adams. A lifelong devotee of the recording process, he has produced and performed on numerous albums for prominent local artists from his home studio. Fiske’s original song “Choice” was featured in a short film by the nonprofit Planetaid.org, and his co-written track “On a Monday” (co-written by A.J. Kiernan)earned the $5,000 Grand Prize for Best Song across all genres on ourstage.com. His music has drawn high praise from peers and press alike—Tim Harrington of Tall Heights called it “alluring and beautiful,” and Worcester Magazine wrote that his album We’re Already Gone is “achingly beautiful and melancholy,” naming it one of the Best Albums of 2021. Today, you can find Fiske performing at bars, coffeehouses, town commons, and festivals across Massachusetts. His latest solo LP We’re Already Goneand The Casters’ debut Shave Your Soul are available on Spotify, Apple Music, CDBaby, and Bandcamp.

Jessica Adams (Vocalist/Musician) is a Georgia-born performer and vocalist now based in central Massachusetts, where she’s built a vibrant creative life over the past decade. Before stepping into the spotlight, Adams spent more than ten years as a radio DJ and worked for the Atlanta Film Festival—roles that deepened her love of storytelling and sound. In those days, she used the microphone to share others’ voices and stories; now she uses it to share her own. An expressive alto with a gift for harmony, Adams performs with her husband, Jared Fiske, as the acoustic duo Never Say Never, and joins him and Rob Adams in the New England Weather Trio. She is also a member of the Americana/rock group The Casters, whose sound blends heart, grit, and intricate vocal interplay. Shaped by a lifelong appreciation for both art and authenticity, Adams continues to explore the power of connection wherever music brings people together.
