MEMBERS ONLY
Members and their canine companions are invited to join in the second annual Spring Dog Parade at Old Sturbridge Village! Dress your dog in an outfit inspired by farm life at the Village and join in the festive fun as the parade travels around the Village Common. Staff judges will select one dog to win a special prize. Pre-registration is required by June 8th (see below).
Please note: While service animals are always permitted at the Village, pets are not allowed except on designated Dog Days. Dog Days are a member-exclusive perk and dogs must be registered prior to visiting. Learn more about membership here. Owner of the dog must be a current member of Old Sturbridge Village. “Guest” dogs, those not belonging to the primary holder(s) of the Old Sturbridge Village membership, are not eligible to participate. All Dog Days policies apply to the Spring Dog Parade.
Spring 2025 Parade Theme: Farm Life
Get creative dressing your dog with something inspired by the early 19th-century rural New England farm life!
Ideas:
- Create a cow pup costume inspired by CowParade, complete with spots and maybe even a tiny cow bell!
- Have your dog don a bonnet or straw hat like those worn by costumed historians out in the fields
- Dress your dog like one of the Village's heritage breed animals – cattle, pigs, chickens, or sheep
- Use a thematic collar and leash or harness
- Be inspired by the harvest and the many heirloom vegetables we grow at the Village
The possibilities are nearly endless!
