Join CowParade artist Maria Boutin for a hands-on, cow-themed art and craft class in the Ox & Yoke Café! After learning a brief history of polymer and porcelain clay, create polymer clay florals to surround a hand-painted cow head (painted by Maria) on a wooden plaque. All instructions and materials are provided! Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.
What’s included:
- A brief history of polymer and porcelain clay.
- A guided class project of botanical clay elements: Flowers, Leaves & Vines.
- Materials: Wooden plaque with hand-painted cow sculpture, sculpting tools, brushes, professional-grade air-dry porcelain clay, acrylic tray, and glue.
- A finished wall ornament to take home.
About the Instructor:
Maria Boutin is a Chilean American illustration and clay artist from western Massachusetts. Her art is inspired by whimsical nature, celestial and magical creatures, as well as female empowerment and inclusion. The mediums she works with include acrylic gouache paints, watercolor, polymer clay, and digital tools such as Procreate and Adobe Illustrator. Her CowParade cow, "Noche de Otoño," is currently on display at Old Sturbridge Village and is pictured below.
