Traditions in Trades: Artisan Showcase Vendor Application

Potter woking with clay.On August 16, 2025,* Old Sturbridge Village will host the first Traditions in Trades: Artisan Showcase! This exciting new event aims to celebrate the craftsmanship of today’s artisans alongside our costumed historians, who will be demonstrating the trades and arts of early 1800s New England. We are curating a select group of artisans whose craftsmanship is of the highest caliber and whose work embodies the spirit and tradition similar to our own work here. The Artisan Showcase will provide a fantastic opportunity for you to showcase and sell your goods to a diverse audience interested in history, craftsmanship, and the arts. To apply, please read the following information and fill out the application form below.

Event date:

August 16, 2025 | 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Set up will take place on August 16th starting at 8:00 a.m. All vehicles must be off the event grounds by 9:15 a.m. Breakdown can begin when the event concludes at 5:00, but vehicles will not be allowed in the Village until 5:30. All exhibitors are required to staff their spaces for the entire event and to handle their own sales.

*While we have scheduled August 17, 2025 as a rain date, this will only be in the case of severe inclement weather. 

Event Location

Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, MA

Vendors will be located in the Village, surrounded by historical buildings where a variety of demonstrations will be taking place.

Vendor Fees & Spaces

The fee for a single space (10 x 10 ft) is $75. You can purchase more than one space. Old Sturbridge Village does not take a percentage of exhibitor sales. Vendors must bring their own table that fits in their space, chair(s), and, if desired, a tent. No electricity or internet/Wi-Fi is provided. Please let us know if you need additional accommodations. Please note that no animals are permitted.

Vendor Permits & Insurance

ALL vendors must be registered with Massachusetts and have a valid MA tax permit. Vendors must collect sales tax on taxable items and they are responsible to file and pay their taxes on their own.  Vendors must display their permits at the event and the promoter (OSV) should collect a copy of their permit prior to the show. As a participant (demonstrator, vendor, speaker, performer), we encourage you to share the word about the event via your favorite social media channels.  A social media tool kit will be provided at a later date.

Vendor Application Form

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. We will respond to completed applications within ten (10) business days. Accepted vendors will receive a payment link at that time.

Old Sturbridge Village reserves the right to decline any application for any reason.
