To help Garden Thyme speakers and leaders plan accordingly for their program and, in some cases, communicate with interested members ahead of time, pre-registration is required. This event's registration is full.
Garden advice books from the 1800s offer tips still valuable today. This session will cover planning for crop rotation, succession sowing and inter-planting to make productive use of space, designing and creating garden beds, techniques for crop support, and using a garden frame to extend the season.
Please make sure to arrive ample time before the program starts in order to check in at the Visitor Center and walk to the program location.
Garden Thyme programs are held on a select Saturday each month and are FREE for members of Old Sturbridge Village. Led by Village horticultural and agricultural staff, these programs and workshops are held at various sites and deal with a variety of plant-related themes and topics.
